Life Healthcare

Logos

This document contains the general corporate identity standards and specifications for the Life Healthcare group and all of its operations. It should read in conjunction with other specific corporate identity standards and specifications, for example those for building signage, marketing brochures, etc.

No department or employee may create or use any logo, slogan, corporate colours or other brand elements other than the official ones featured in this document.

For assistance with any brand and corporate identity matters, please contact the group marketing/communications department based at head office.

Logo Elements and Typefaces

Our corporate and operations’ logos are made up of a number of elements, for which different typefaces have been specified:

‘Life’ element and typeface
The typeface for the word ‘Life’ is not a standard typeface. It has been specially designed and should never be used elsewhere. Never attempts to redraw it – only use the official artwork which is available on the Life Gateway, or material provided to you by the Life Healthcare marketing/communications department.

‘HEALTH’ and ‘CARE’ element and typeface
The Helvetica Bold typeface is used in uppercase for the words HEALTH and CARE which form part of the corporate logo, all the hospital logos, and some other operations’ logos. These words appear below the ‘LIFE’ element.

Note: We make use of the Life Healthcare rectangular logo in designs, unless specified to make use of a specific hospital or unit logo. Unit specific logos (i.e. Life Mental Health, Life Renal Dialysis, Life Rehabilitation, Life Oncology, etc.) do not include the ‘HEALTH’ and ‘CARE’ element. Specific hospital logos (i.e. Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Life Riverfield Lodge, etc.) do include the ‘HEALTH’ and ‘CARE’ element unless specifically instructed not to.

Operations' Name and Typeface

Future Bold Oblique is used for the part of the logo following on ‘Life’, for example, ‘Healthcare’, ‘Vincent Pallotti Hospital’, ‘Rehabilitation’ or other operational names. This typeface may not be used for any other purpose. Only this typeface may be used for the operation’s name in the logo.

NB: No other elements than those described above may be incorporated into the logo.

Creating a New Logo Pack / Logo Variations

When requested to create a new logo pack for a hospital or unit, the above guidelines need to be followed using the correct fonts and colours. Below is a list and examples of the logo variations required when creating a new logo pack:

Note: Signage logos should NOT be used on print or digital layout, unless specifically requested. The 1 colour logo should be used when duel-branded with the Life Healthcare Logo

Logo Construction and Proportions

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
The corporate logo, as well as the logos for hospitals and other operations, should appear in the exact configuration and proportions, and may not be altered, distorted or rotated.

For your convenience all electronic logos have been uploaded to Dropbox and can be found under Life > CI > Group, facility, business and product logos

NB: These logos are approved by die client, and therefore should not be adjusted or altered in any way.

The logo artwork should be used all material which incorporates your operation’s logo. The different elements of the logo may not be rearranged in any other format.

ENLARGING OR REDUCING LOGO ARTWORK
Please ensure that you always enlarge or reduce the full logo, and not only certain elements thereof. Take care not to squash or stretch the logo. The correct way to change the size of the logo is to click on any of the corners of the ‘box’ around the logo, and then ‘pulling’ or ‘pushing’ it proportionally to the required size. Do not click on any of the sides to enlarge or reduce the logo as this will result in it being either squashed or stretched.

Life Family of Logos

The identities for members of the Life Healthcare group are derived from the landscape corporate logo. The name of each individual hospital or operation appears in Future Bold Oblique.
